I digress, my mother made *really good* panjiri today. So, it looks like I will not be able to get rid of that lovely muffin top I acquired a few years back. sigh

Goodbye Weightloss
So as I mentioned I'm fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes. Was. Today I received two batches of Panjiri. For the uninitiated, this is a traditional Indian sweet made for mothers right after they give birth. It's supposed to help you heal from childbirth, full of micronutrients, vitamins, fat and even "glue" to help your body stitch itself back together. On paper, a lovely thing, in real life it is delicious, deadly stuff. Here are some of its yummy ingredients - almonds, raisins, ghee (clarified butter - again for the uninitiated), flax seeds, sugar, flour, lotus seeds, melon seeds. Basically any yummy fatty thing that comes to mind can be tossed in. That's not entirely true - the original creation was made back in the days when a village midwife birthed babies and there were no pregnancy multivitamins to help a woman's body prepare to become a mother. My mother says that the saying was "You receive a new body once you give birth." They really took that to heart, a new mother was pampered by her family and if she was lucky her only job was to eat panjiri and care for her body and her baby - that too with help.

Post Pregnancy hurrahs!
Here is a list of things that I'm enjoying post-pregnancy:
- Fitting into pre-pregnancy clothes at less than 3 weeks post-partum (that's 35 lbs gone for anyone that's counting)
- Enjoying sushi without people staring (I ate it during pregnancy also b/c I did my own research and knew the risks were next to nil but now I don't have to wear an "I don't care if you judge me" look)
- My nose shrunk back down to its normal size
- Being able to bend down without my belly getting in the way
- Enjoying a drink (Haven't gotten around to this as yet, but will very soon)
- Only needing pre- and post- sleep bathroom trips
- My regular bony sized 10 feet (that's right I said Size 10 but imagine those same size 10 babies all swollen up!!)
- Online Shopping for normal clothes :)
- The one year mat leave we Canadian mamas get to enjoy
Of course somewhere at the very top of that list is holding my two babies in my arms but why must we state the obvious?
Hurray for post pregnancy!! Now if I could just hurry up and get all healed up....

Yes I am shameless
Who cares that I have a handful of posts in my entire blog? I still consider myself a blogger and every once in a while I think of my adding a new post with a happy little sigh and get the same satisfaction as if I've already done it. I've heard the same phenomenon occurs with people who diet often, the mere thought of starting a new one makes them happy. No really. There was a study on it and everything.
So, since March of 2009, we've had another baby. Just last month as a matter of fact. I will however, retain the name of the blog as it stands.
The SO is still in Medical School. Did I mention previously that SO would be starting medical school back in '09? Well he did. In fact we'll be going there either a month today or beginning of January depending on how things go with me. I had a rough delivery with my son. He's perfect; I took a bit of a beating. All in a life's work. Let's not dwell on it.
Tara and my mom have gone out so I have a bit of a reprieve and rather than feeling all giddy thinking about blogging a post I decided to actually write one. This particular activity seems to be possible for me only during maternity leaves or during extended periods away from work. So, let's see how I do this year. Maybe by next October it'll be a part of what I do.
Bye for now,
Blogger Me.
